Our story

That's me in the orange coat on the hood of our family car on the way to Valley High Ski Resort in Ohio.  Circa 1966.  We moved to Utah in the Fall of 1970 and I saw mountains for the first time.  I was changed for good.   Our family skied at Sundance and I would travel around Utah on the weekends racing.  From the start, I loved everything about mountains, snow, elevation, storm patterns, north slopes, and ski tune ups.  (Our family pool table doubled as a work bench and was covered in ski wax.)  We founded Winterfaith on the belief that snow matters.   Snow is a gift and we must all do everything possible to keep the magic alive…

Our creative director Alex Nabaum grew up in Colorado and learned to ski at Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. He now lives in Heber City, Utah and brings his passion for the environment and backcountry skiing to Winterfaith.
